"THE
NEW PAPERWORK REQUIRES FOR CUSTOMS CLEARANCE"

Since october 25th of 2005,the
law number 8458 was approved and modifies the requirements
on tne article 86.
The new paperwork requires for customs clearance are:
a) Original of commercial invoice
b) Original merchandise certificate from origen country when
they are free trade agreements approved.
c) Original bill of lading
d) Copy of customs export declaration or copy of shipping
export declaration (sed) where it shows value of merchandise,
Weight,units,import name. this document is necessary for all
goods with value more than $2,000,00 us dollars.
"RESTRICTIONS APPROVED BY THE USA GOVERNMENT ON THE WOOD
PALLETS IMPORTS WITH CARGO."

The approved treatments for
wood packaging material are
1) Heat treatment to a minimum wood core temperature of 56ºC
for a minimum of 30 minutes or
2) Fumigation with methyl bromide. To certify treatment, the
WPM must be marked with the following International Plant
Protection Convention (IPPC) logo. Paper certificates of treatment
will no longer be required or accepted.
